H.O.M.E. For Christmas - November 26, Time to be announced
This annual community celebration is our kick-off to the Christmas holidays. Join us in decorating the MLK Center and the surrounding grounds. Christmas trees will be erected and lit on the lawn (where the old swimming pool once was). Any family, church organization, individual or group interested in including a tree is welcome to do so. Light refreshments will be served at the Center following the tree lighting. The event is sponsored by H.O.M.E. INC. & MLK CENTER.
KWANZAA (matunda ya kwanza, Swahili for "first fruits") - December 30, Time to be announced
This week-long event is an African American holiday observed by African communities throughout the world to celebrate family, community and culture. We will share in "The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa" along with food, dance, song and poetry. This is a great time to learn how important it is to give back to the community. All are welcome to participate and partake in this great celebration.
Please note that the above activities have not been finalized and are subject to change. For more information, please call the Center at 983-1954.
