Summer Youth Basketball Program and Day Camp
Parks & Rec. and the Blount County African-American Youth Council (BCAYC) is sponsoring a free 1-week summer basketball day camp and a 3-week summer league for Boys/Girls (co-ed teams, Ages: 9-14).
Basketball Day Camp: June 22-25 (Monday-Thursday) 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Springbrook Gym located at 1537 Dalton Street in Alcoa. Van transportation will be provided for those needing a ride to Springbrook Gym. Pick-up time will be 5:40 p.m. each day at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center located 209 E. Franklin Street in Alcoa. Return time will be approximately 7:45 p.m. Fellowship service, cook-out and skills competition: June 26th (Friday) 6:00 p.m. at the basketball courts by the MLK Center.
Basketball League Games: 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Springbrook Gym, Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 30th, July 2nd, July 7th, July 9th, July 14th & final games and cook-out at Springbrook Pavilion on July 16th. Van transportation will be provided for those needing a ride to Springbrook Gym. Pick-up time will be 5:40 p.m. each day at the MLK Center. Return time will be approximately 8:15 p.m.

Marsh Madness Basketball Camp

Campers will learn valuable skills at their respective positions and basic fundamentals of the game of basketball. Boys and girls will be instructed separately. Campers should bring lunch or may purchase something from the concession stand.

Basketball for Fun for 5 Year-Olds
Basketball for Fun is a low-key, non-competitive approach to the game of basketball. Available to boys and girls 5 years old, this is a great introductory approach to learn the fundamentals of the game. The program meets for one hour on Saturdays for six (6) weeks.
- Teams will play an 8–game season with games being played on Saturdays.
- Children will practice 1 time per week on a rotating schedule, which tentatively begins several weeks prior to the season.
- Children are placed on teams through a draft.
- Children Ages 6-12 will be placed on an all-boys/all-girls team. Ages 13-16 play co-ed. Children are place in age groups based on age as of September 1.
