Part-time Rental Assistant Application
General Definition of Work
Performs support work admitting patrons into facilities, assisting with maintenance of activities, answering telephones and related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Center Director.

Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed.  The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

- Monitors facilities and customers for safety or potential issues; defuses confrontational situations.
- Answers telephone and assists callers or forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Handles event scheduling and rental scheduling; collects fees for the facility; completes appropriate paperwork.
- Cleans facility after use, including vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, mopping up spills, etc.
- Handles public relations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of athletic games and related rules and regulations programmed at the gymnasium; general knowledge of first aid practices; ability to maintain order in a public facility; ability to adhere to program standards and objectives outlined by superiors; ability to resolve disputes with firmness and impartiality; ability to meet and deal effectively with the public; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, associates and the general public.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED with certifications as indicated in the Special Requirements section and moderate experience in recreational facilities planning and supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay
$10 per hour, hours will vary

Physical Requirements
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; worker is frequently speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and pushing or pulling and occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic)

Special Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of Tennessee.
