H.O.M.E. FOR THE HOLIDAYS

December 5, 2020 • 6:00 PM • Tree Lighting at 6:30 PM • Martin Luther King, Jr Community Center
H.O.M.E.(Hall-Oldfield-MaryvilleEmpowerment) and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center partner for this annual community celebration to kick-off the Christmas holidays. Join us on December 5th for family fun and light refreshments. We will decorate the Center tree with MEMORIAL AND HONOR ornaments, which will be sold for $1.00 each. If you choose to put a tree in the lower field, please do so prior to the event with the last day being December 2nd.  

CITY OF ALCOA TREE LIGHTING

November 30, 2020 (Rain Date: December 1) • 6:15 PM • Pedestrian Bridge at the Springbrook Corporate Center
This year, the annual lighting of the City of Alcoa Christmas Tree will be at a new location! The ceremony will take place at the pedestrian bridge at the Springbrook Corporate Center. Hot chocolate and/or coffee will be available as you enjoy this annual event at our new location. Event is free. Additional activities to be determined closer to the date.  

FESTIVAL OF TREES

December 3-31, 2020 • Blount County Courthouse
The Blount County Courthouse lawn will be illuminated by Christmas trees of all sizes, colors, and themes, beginning Thursday, December3. This unique month-long event allows the community to enjoy the festival by driving by or walking through for a closer look. Due to construction in the area, the display site will move to another part of the courthouse lawn, and an opening ceremony will not be held. For information on entering a tree in the festival, please contact the Parks & Rec. Office at 865-983-9244.

CITY OF MARYVILLE TREE LIGHTING

November 30, 2020 • City of Maryville Municipal Center, 400 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville
The annual tree lighting at the City of Maryville Municipal Center marks the beginning of the holiday season for our community, and can be enjoyed all season long by those driving by or walking through the city. Event details and modifications will be announced closer to the date. Event is free.

Santa Calls

Ages 3-5: December 8, 2020 • Ages 6-7: December 10, 2020 • All calls are made between 5:00 - 9:00 PM
Children in Blount County can enjoy a very special telephone call from Santa Claus free of charge thanks to the continued support of volunteers from the Maryville-Alcoa Civitan Club who provide special phone lines from the North Pole. Applications available online or through the Parks & Rec. office after November 9. Deadline to register is December 4.
