BLOUNT COUNTY SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Nominations are currently being accepted from the public for the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame. Information should include a list of the nominee’s athletic accomplishments along with contact information for both the nominee and the person submitting the nomination. Nomination forms are available below or at the Parks and Recreation office at 316 S. Everett High Road.  The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, March 4, 2024.  Anyone needing further information should contact the Parks and Recreation office at 865-983-9244.

To nominate a person for the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame, a completed nomination form along with a resume of the candidate's accomplishments must be sent to the Maryville-Alcoa-Blount County Parks and Recreation Commission at 316 S. Everett High Road, Maryville, TN 37804. The deadline to submit nominations for this year's class is the first Friday of March.

Included in the resume should be all sports activities, honors, and any other accomplishments in which the nominee gained notoriety during his/her career whether it be as participant, coach, official, administrator, promoter, supporter, organizer, or a person otherwise involved. Examples of information needed include, but is not limited to, individual honors such as "All Region" or "All State", any records the individual set, names of any championships played for or won, records of teams individually coached, or number of years involved in his/her particular sport.

Blount Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet

This year's Induction Banquet is scheduled for Monday, October 23rd at the Airport Hilton in Alcoa.  

Tickets are $50 per person which includes dinner. Tickets must be purchased no later than Friday, October 20th at the Parks & Rec office located at 316 S. Everett High Rd in Maryville. For more information or to make reservations, please contact Parks & Rec at 865-983-9244.

Those attending should arrive between 6:00-6:15 p.m. The buffet line will open at 6:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 7:00 p.m.  The attire is business casual.

The Special Olympics Athlete of the Year is Jared Allmon.
